Fog and Light

I am fascinated by the coastal fog of Northern California. Having grown up in Houston, TX  I’d never seen anything quite like the thick rolling fog found in the San Francisco Bay Area.  When I see the fog flowing over the bay or mountains it makes me think of a giant paw pushing its way across the land.   I’m always excited to see it and photograph it for future reference.

In this ongoing series of fog paintings I’m inspired by the moody and misty muting qualities of the fog.  The challenge for me is to convey the moodiness of the moment while keeping the colors vibrant.
